2 March2009 Nearly Missed Kilimanjaro Climb

Ronan Keating almost missed his chance to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief because he nearly missed his flight to Africa.

A spokeswoman said "Ronan nearly didn't make it; it was touch and go. His flight from Dublin was delayed and once he did arrive at Heathrow he had to be driven over to the plane. Luckily he was just in time."

He will climb 19,000 feet for Comic Relief along with nine other celebrities including Chris Moyles, Ben Shephard, Fearne Cotton, Kimberley Walsh and Alesha Dixon, on a ten day expedition.
