Ronan Keating fansite with news and information about the popular singer. Since leaving Boyzone, he has gone on to become a very successful solo artist, with a string of hit singles and albums under his belt. He is also a very talented song-writer, as heard on the album Turn It On, and has collaborated with major stars including Elton John, Lulu, LeAnn Rimes and the Bee Gees. Including his Boyzone days, he has sold over 17 million records and has had huge international success with songs including Life is a Rollercoaster, When You Say Nothing At All, We've Got Tonight and If Tomorrow Never Comes.

He started his music career when he was only 16, after being selected by manager Louis Walsh to join the the pop group Boyzone. Along with the other Boyzone members, Shane Lynch, Stephen Gately, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy, became hugely popular, selling millions of albums worldwide. They performed to thousands of fans on their successful sell out arena tours and won many awards. They last released a single in 1999, with each member deciding to go their own seperate ways.

Ronan Keating then, after briefly co-managing fellow Irish group Westlife, embarked on a solo career. Not known as a song-writer, was awarded the prestigious "BMI European song-writing award" in 2003, for his beautiful song The Long Goodbye. When the song was covered by country act Brooks & Dunnin for release in the United States, it had great success, going to number one on the US country charts.

To celebrate an incredible decade of hits in music, he released his 10 Years Of Hits album in October 2004. The album went straight to number one in the UK album charts and has sold over two and a half million copies worldwide. Also at that time he broke a UK chart record and was entered in the Guinness Book of Records. He was recognised for being the only artist ever, in UK chart history, to have 30 consecutive top 10 singles.

His fourth studio album Bring You Home was released on June 5, 2006 and entered the UK album charts at number three, with sales in excess of 100,000 it was certified Gold. It reached the top ten in Germany and several other countries across the world.

Ronan Keating made his first trip as a Fair Trade ambassador for Christian Aid in June 2004 His job was to visit central Ghana and spent a week visiting farmers and families across the country to see first hand how unfair trade laws are making farming extremely difficult and destroying livelihoods. Subsequently he was appointed as a UN Goodwill Ambassador via the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) for his good work there.

On 6 July 2005, he performed at the Live 8 - The Final Push - concert to help raise awareness for world poverty. The event was held at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh to a large a crowd of 50,000 with millions more watching live on TV. Other Live 8 concerts included London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Philadelphia, Barrie, Tokyo, Johannesburg, Moscow and the Eden Project in Cornwall.

He also sung at the World Cup opening party in June 2006, at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin Germany in front of an audience of nearly 250,000 people.

In Septemebr 2006, Ronan Keating met his idol Cristiano Ronaldo and they have now become good friends. He is now believed to be an avid Man Utd fan and has been quoted as saying Cristiano Ronaldo is the best footballer alive.

He has also done a lot of television presenting, he presented the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997, presented the MTV Europe Music Awards in 1997 and 1999, and co-presented the MTV Asia Awards in 2002 with Mandy Moore. He has also hosted the Miss World contest.

He dueted with Elton John at Madison Garden in New York and has performed for the Pope on two occasions and for Prince Charles at The Prince's Trust 30th Birthday which took place at the Tower of London. He sung on stage for the Swedish Royal family at the Crown Princess Victoria's Birthday Celebrations, and was at the Opening Cermony of 19th European Athletics Championships in Gottenburg.

Over the years he has won several Smash Hits awards including best solo male, he also has a World Music Award for the best selling Irish artist. He was given a tree for performing for The Prince's Trust, the tree is in London's Hyde Park.

He will once again be performing with Boyzone as he is scheduled to go back on the road with them for the Back Again No Matter What Tour in May 2008. The Boyzone reunion tour will be a large scale 21 date arena tour of the UK and Ireland begining in Belfast on the 25th May 2008.
